Much worse reading as an adult hahaha

"I just re read this book which isn’t something I normally do because who has time for that but we chose a twilight as our December read for #patiosandpagesyyc bookclub because we went to the Twilight orchestra which was great. Re reading the book and rewatching the movie as a 30 something year old who has now read many better books did not enjoy the read but also didn’t hate it. I can see some of the problematic issues re reading it. But we had a good time for bookclub."

Eternal first love

"Reading the 20th-anniversary edition of Twilight felt like opening a time capsule filled with all the emotions of first love — wonder, fear, obsession, and the desperate need to belong. Even after twenty years, Stephenie Meyer’s world still captures that fragile moment when love feels both impossible and inevitable. What struck me most this time wasn’t the fantasy but the humanity. Beneath the supernatural story is a portrait of a girl learning how powerful — and dangerous — it is to give your heart away. Bella’s quiet courage and Edward’s struggle between love and restraint reminded me how love can be both salvation and sacrifice. Revisiting Twilight now, I saw less of the glittering vampire tale and more of the loneliness behind it — the ache to be seen, chosen, and understood. That’s why this story still matters: it speaks to the part of us that wants to feel extraordinary, even when we’re ordinary. Twilight endures not because it’s perfect, but because it remembers what it’s like to be seventeen and to believe that love, no matter how dangerous, is worth everything."

"Iconic, problematic, beloved. I'm honestly just glad I was able to buy a version that wasn't TWIL IGHT on the cover"
