Dr Shubhankar Roy Chowdhury is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), Roorkee. He earned his PhD and M.E. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and his B.E. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, where he received multiple gold medals for academic excellence. His professional background includes research at Texas A&M University, Texas, USA, and industrial experience at the Airbus Engineering Centre India in Bangalore. Dr Roy Chowdhury&s research focuses on computational mechanics, specifically multiscale modelling of composites, peridynamics, and generalised continuum modelling. His work integrates machine learning and reduced-order modelling to predict material damage and fracture. Additionally, he contributes to the field of 3D printed concrete structures. A recipient of the Prof. N S Govinda Rao Medal for the best PhD thesis at IISc Bangalore, he has authored numerous papers in high-impact international journals.

Dr Vimal Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, India. He earned his PhD in Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India, in 2019, where his research focused on the Behaviour of Prestressed Concrete Slabs under Impact Loading. He holds an M.Tech. in Structural Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, India. His research focuses on structural element performance under various loads, brittle material behaviour under high strain rates, finite element analysis, and crashworthiness. Dr Kumar has been recognised for his contributions to structural impact mechanics and infrastructure resilience.
