He obtained his Bachelor&s degree (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, M. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kolkata, and Ph. D from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. His major research interests include the characterization of pavement materials, pavement analysis and design, and pavement evaluation. He has an impressive academic portfolio, with around 70 publications in reputed journals and 30 publications from national and international conferences. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the "Achievement Award for Academician / Scientist / Technologist / Innovator" at the 11th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards in 2019.
