Reviews

Excellent

"Excellent book. I’m a huge fan of everything by him."

CKline (5/5)

One of the best novels

"I had heard many rave reviews on Hosseini's first novel The Kite Runner and came across his second, A Thousand Splendid Suns, with one goal in my mind: I wanted to have a real cry. One of those books that truly move you, pulling on your heartstrings until you bawl like a child."

Gagan (5/5)

Gift for a Friend

"She wanted to read it after reading the Kite Runner, I hope she enjoys it :)"

Jskat (5/5)

A Heartbreaking Story of Strength and Sisterhood

"Even though this is a heartbreaking story, it’s one of the most powerful books I’ve read. As a woman, I could deeply feel for the protagonists, even though I can’t personally relate to their circumstances. Khaled Hosseini writes in a way that completely immerses you in their world, I felt every emotion right alongside them. What stood out most to me was how beautifully structured the book is: it begins from one perspective, then shifts to another, and eventually their stories collide and coexist in such a moving way. The writing is poetic yet raw, and the characters stay with you long after the last page."

Widad (5/5)

Love

"It really tugs on your heartstrings and is one of my favourite novels."

Palwasha (5/5)

Not thrilled with all the 4 and 5 stars

"Disappointing. So many reviews listed this as so sad and heart wrenching. I’m sorry but I just didn’t get worked up. I’m sorry for the religious beliefs that affect female worth but not much about this was a big surprise and it didn’t detail horrific accounts that dropped my jaw."

Lisa (2/5)

A splendid read!

"The way this book is written is so beautiful. Readers are able to really connect with the tragic but informational story depicted."

Simm (5/5)
