Hard to put down

"Great books. Reminded me a bit of the Dark Tower novels."

Jessica F. (5/5)

Southern Reach Trilogy

"Unsettling, melancholic, heartbreaking. An incredible journey of cosmic horror mixed with grounded emotion."

Patrick (5/5)

Amazing Novel

"Amazing novel. I read this after watching the movie and while the story is changed I can not complain. The depth of character and world building around Area X has no equal."

Collie (5/5)

Favourite Author

"The Southern Reach Trilogy is a beautifully written series that builds perfectly on each other. Annihilation leaves you with more questions than answers, but Authority and Acceptance unravel the mysteries to bring the trilogy to a dizzying but satisfying conclusion."

Rachel (5/5)

?

"Confusing at times. Rough through the first two books, last book is better."

Haunting, Frightening, and Beautiful

"Individually the ratings would be closer to 5 (Annihilation), 3. 5 (Authority) and 4 (Acceptance), but as a whole this story is haunting, frightening, and beautiful in turns. Annihilation is everything I could possibly want from a nature-survival/cosmic-horror story. The biologist is such an excellent character. She is flawed, she knows it, she doesn't care to overcome it. She just is. Control grows on you as a character who is deeply out of his depth, and feels helpless as a warm-body sent in to make moves for much bigger players. By the third book, Area X has completely become its own character, and getting the perspective of the Director and the Lighthouse keeper adds a richness and depth to the story. I feel like I need some time to fully digest everything I just read, but I know my heart broke is subtle ways that I can't quite put into words. This is an unique and haunting read for anyone who loves sci-fi, spy thrillers, unreliable narratives, and people who are just doing the best they can in an unknowable situation. #IndigoEmployee"

Worth It!

"The way the chapters are split is a bit off putting, because each start does not begin on its own page. The size of the font and the space between the lines is ideal for me, anything larger/wider looks very unappealing to me. Yes, I do care about the look of a book's cover and what is within it - I'm not sorry, especially when it comes to purchasing a physical copy for myself - I could not care less about the look of a library book, because I am only borrowing it, so it is purely about the reading experience. The story here is really gripping, which is why I wanted a physical copy in the first place. :)"

Area X: The Southern Reach Trilogy is genre blending excellence

"This is such a tense and thrilling series. It’s an excellent intersection of several genres and it’s quite inventive. Definitely check it out for yourself."

Couldn’t put it down!

"A captivating masterpiece that seamlessly blends mystery, science fiction, and psychological intrigue. Vivid storytelling and atmospheric prose create an immersive experience, that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The enigmatic setting and complex characters make this book a must-read for anyone seeking a thought-provoking and haunting journey into the unknown"

Beee (5/5)

Well written and thrilling

"Such a good trilogy. Would recommend to anyone. Can’t put it down."
