Hans H.A. Hötte, (PhD, 1970) was a professional ophthalmologist who spent decades of his life working on this atlas in his spare time. In addition to using the available literature in various languages, he also travelled frequently to the Balkans to obtain information on the ground. He died in 2007.
Gábor Demeter, PhD (2007) in History and (2008) in Earth Sciences, Debrecen University, Hungary, is a research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Centre for the Humanities, Institute of History (Budapest). His main research topic are: social and economic development on the Balkan Peninsula, diplomatic relations between Austria-Hungary and the Balkan States (1878-1914), historical geography of Hungary (19th century).
Dávid Turbucs, PhD (2015), Eger, Eszterházy Károly College is a research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Centre for the Humanities, Institute of History (Budapest). He wrote his PhD dissertation on the subject of the leader cult of Miklós Horthy between 1919 and 1944.
