Kidnapped at seventeen and forced into marriage, Caillte Lynn is anything but the "evil stepmother". In fact, she loves her stepdaughter more than anything and would do anything to protect her.
Even fake Snow White's death.
Snow has grown up under the protection of her stepmother, the only person who was ever able to protect the girl from her father, the king. Having to leave her stepmother as the older woman spirals into madness is devastating, but Snow refuses to throw away the protection. Caillte risked everything to give her.
But when the curse is broken, both women have only one thing on their minds: getting rid of the king.
