We are often told that love conquers all. But sometimes, love does not conquer — it chooses.
Between Us is not a story about losing love. It is about what love leaves behind when it steps aside for something greater — dignity, responsibility, and a child's future.
This novel speaks of quiet courage.
Of humanity over identity.
Of letting go, even when the heart wants to hold on.
If, at any point in this book,
your heart smiles…
or your eyes get a little moist…
then my purpose as a writer is fulfilled. — Raihan J. Sabir
-----------------------------------------------
Raihan J. Sabir was born and raised in Murshidabad, West Bengal. His early years were far from ordinary. As a child, he often ran away from home, travelling on trains and experiencing a life that exposed him to struggles and realities far beyond his age.
Those years kept him away from formal education for nearly five years. Yet one thing changed everything—his parents. Their support and insistence helped him return to school and continue his studies. Determined not to waste the opportunity, Raihan took admission directly into Class 8 and slowly rebuilt his academic life from there.
What began as a difficult restart eventually turned into a journey of persistence and growth. He continued his studies and later graduated with a degree in Chemistry. More importantly, those experiences taught him how to observe people, understand emotions, and see the world in a deeper way.
After completing his graduation, Raihan chose to focus on storytelling. Through writing, he explores the quiet conflicts of human relationships—love, responsibility, and the difficult choices that shape our lives.
Today, as he continues to understand the world around him, he writes stories that aim to feel honest, human, and emotionally real.
Between Us: What Love Left Behind marks his debut novel.
