Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of God's power to heal and restore those who are sick or suffering. In the Old Testament, God provided physical healing to his people through prophets such as Elijah and Elisha, and in the New Testament, Jesus performed many miraculous healings of physical ailments, as well as emotional and spiritual wounds. In the Book of James, it is written that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16), and we are encouraged to pray for those who are sick and in need of healing.
