Misogyny in medicine

"For anyone going through hell with Endometriosis / Adenomyosis, YOU NEED TO GET THIS BOOK!! The amount of medical gaslighting patients go through with this disease is horrendous. None of us should be dealing with this, yet here we are in 2024 no less, dealing with a medical community that: delays Dx, spreads outdated & unproven 1927 Sampson’s theories on Endo & Adeno, garners kickbacks from the Rx’s that don’t actually work, and uses their coziness with the pharmaceutical industry to form guidelines that don’t actually help patients. Diagnosis is not therapy, but this book is the salve."

Important and interesting read

"An interesting blend of a memoir and investigative journalism. I do not have endometriosis, but am a medical student wanting to learn more about lived patient experiences. This would be a great read for anyone who has endo or wants to learn more about the struggles faced by endo patients. Love how the author committed to using inclusive language and took an intersectional approach."
