Brede Becker is a disillusioned attorney who works in a prestigious law firm as a Junior Partner as he follows in his father's footsteps. However, his father's ambitions for him are not his own. Instead, Brede has always dreamed of living in the untamed west. A prime source of his frustration comes from within his own law firm as one of his clients is a wealthy man who is ruthlessly purchasing land and cattle in the west as he builds his empire. His acquisitions are not always ethical or even legal as he drives off poor farmers and the smaller ranchers just so he can claim their land and cattle. Brede leaves his prominent position and moves to the Wyoming Territories where he is appointed a Deputy Marshal. He discovers that his former client is in the area and terrorizing the very citizens he is there to protect. When he realizes how many people have been hurt or even killed by this man, Brede vows to bring him to justice, even though it means risking his own life. Along the way he meets a widow who lives in one of the towns in his jurisdiction. He comes to have deep and tender feelings towards her even though he knows his affections are not returned. He works hard to win her trust and to prove to her that he is different from the other rude men she has to deal with every day that have made her withdrawn and unwilling to trust any man. Brede: U.S. Marshal of the Old West is a tale of the changing West during the time of the cattle and range wars. It is an exciting adventure filled with brave lawmen, colorful characters and dangerous outlaws that you will not want to put down.
