A Reactor SFF Title to Look Forward to this Year
A Goodreads Readers’ Most Anticipated Romantasy of the Year
A Queerty Most Anticipated LGBTQ+ Book of the Year
A The Nerd Daily Swoonworthy Romance Book You Need this Year

“‘Two heroes. One brain cell.’ Are you kidding me?? Not since ‘lesbian necromancers in space’ has a cover quote gone so hard. That’s a 3 Michelin star chef’s kiss level blurb right there. And the text itself lives up to it—a cozy, silly, adventure-packed fantasy, Bromantasy is the perfect antidote to everything terrible in the world right now…How these two idiots manage to stay alive is a dang miracle, and an absolute laugh riot the whole way. Máire Roche’s queer romantasy is cheeky, clever, and cute as hell.” —Reactor

“A mishap-fueled quest threatens to break two best bros apart in this unabashedly silly friends-to-lovers medievalesque…the cozy trappings and abundant humor will please those looking for lighthearted queer romantasy.” —Publishers Weekly

“A cozy, queer fantasy novel that follows two best friends who go on a quest that forces them to confront their feelings for each other. This one promises to be full of action/adventure, comedy, and love.” —Queerty

Men

"I was so excited for this book…. But I feel the advertisement of this book was off on what the books plot and characters were truly like. So my expectation of the story was different than what the book truly was. So over all I was disappointed. Things that where said by the publisher/author was: -Two heroes, one brain cell -Schitt’s creek X princess bride -himbo energy -Legends of Lattes C X The House in the Cerulean Sea -Rom Com / funny vibes. Sadly I did not think any of these were accurate when comparing to what I read. I did not expect with in 2 chapters to learn and read about Juniper (one of the MMC) being an aggressive/toxic drunk who start fights in a bar. And a child seeing their mother die and being captured and abused. Not sure how that’s cosy. Mo was great, level headed and very smart. No where in the story did it give “one brain cell” vibes. Miss communication yes, funny idiots on a silly quest no. The romance wasn’t there, did they even really like eachother? If you go in not seeing all these comparisons and having high expectations you may like it more than I did. But I went in with some very high hopes, and it was a let down. It was just okay."

Máire Roche is a former teacher who now dreams up new worlds and characters for a living. When she is not writing stories that are both magical and at least a little silly, Máire enjoys running, teaching martial arts, and curating a growing collection of memes for any occasion.
