Claudia Furiati is a journalist, filmmaker, and author of ZR Rifle: The Plot to Kill Kennedy and Castro. She has written for most Brazilian newspapers, including O Globo, Jornal do Brasil, and Correio Braziliense. She wrote the original Portuguese version of Fidel Castro in 2001.
“In this biography, to which she dedicated nine years of research and interviews, Claudia Furiati worked tirelessly to eternalize the most complete and accurate story of this great man's life.”

—Oscar Niemeyer

“Among all contemporary political leaders, it’s hard to find someone considered as fascinating by so many people as Fidel Castro. His ‘consented’ biography is MAGNIFICENT.”

—Leandro Konder, Jornal do Brasil

“Claudia Furiati's biography of Fidel Castro is simply spectacular. A brilliant work that took almost ten years to be finished. This book is a very serious matter.”

—Juca Kfouri, Rede TV

“Furiati teaches us how the triumph of the Cuban Revolution recovers and relies on a common legacy of the nation, a Cuban historical and cultural heritage embodied by José Martí. Claudia Furiati's biography of Fidel is an essential book for the understanding of Cuba and its leader."

—Mônica Lessa, O Globo

“Claudia Furiati's greatest accomplishment is the reliability of the collected data made available to the reader. If we're in a country called Fidel, the map Claudia Furiati draws will help us to reach our final destination with extreme safety, making us feel truly well-informed.”

—Sérgio Sá e Paulo Paniago, Correio Braziliense

“From these ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,’ she emerged with a harpoon full of new information. Furiati, who also works as a scriptwriter, turns the battles into a sort of Apocalypse Now. All that's left to be done is reading . . . and making your own judgement on whether the author of the phrase ‘History Will Absolve Me’ will be absolved by history or not.”

—Cassiano Elek Machado, Folha de São Paulo
