The women’s suffrage movement is also associated with Cambridge, with Millicent Fawcett as the co-founder of Newham college. Fairs and markets have been held from mediaeval times to the present, and today Cambridge is hub of the country’s high-tech industry.

Illustrated throughout, this fascinating book offers a refreshingly positive insight into Cambridge’s rich heritage, its special events and important moments.
