Addictive read, don’t pass on it.

"Stopped reading The Last Wish to read this when it came out because I heard it was a prequel and I don’t regret a thing. I’m nearly finished all of The Witcher book series now and I can’t recommend this as an intro to the series enough. It’s a great introduction to the world of The Witcher and sets the tone for the series perfectly. Plenty of memorable moments; I can’t recommend it enough."

He did it again!

"A must for any witcher fans. Once again, Sapkowski blows us away with his incredible story telling. Artwork and book are also beautiful."

Geralt (5/5)

Insight into the forces that shaped Geralt

"Classic, authentic Witcher story. It builds toward a powerful conclusion about human nature, and how Geralt's nature starts its own collision course with the way the world works. It's a bit strange and fascinating how especially in the first few chapters, the characters in scenes with Geralt seem to do most of the talking and thinking, but to me this makes sense as he is a late adolescent absorbing from others, a witcher tabula rasa, and not yet the fully philosophical and reflective Geralt of the later novels. I loved it and hope there will be more tales of this great character's younger experiences, as only Sapkowski can write."

Witcher Prequel

"Well-written (and well-translated), episodic treatment of the early years in the Witcher's career. Helps to flesh out the character. I recommend this book to all those enamoured by the Witcher world."

Witcher Returns

"I have waited too long for the next chapter. So fun to see my favourite characters back on the page!"
