"I'm really torn between 2 or 3 starts - because I've definitely read worse, but this book was also just. . . not it. H. M. Wolfe definitely shows promise as a talented writer. That being said, there was a lot of 'telling' without actually 'showing'. Without spoiling anything. . . the first couple chapters were cringey, some of the details throughout were over the top for no reason except for shock value, and I found the characters and plot fell flat. I trusted booktok on this one and it just did not land for me."
