A World of Sap and Silicon
In 2145, the metropolis of Néo-Éden rises like a psychedelic mirage at the heart of a wild frontier where technology and biology have fused. This hybrid city—blending 1960s and 70s urbanism with biotechnological flora—is sheltered beneath a dome of phosphorescent pollen. In this chlorophyll-rich "Wild West," humanity is severed by the Great Oneiric Schism: on one side, the "Fertiles," whose cerebral activity still produces dreams; on the other, the "Arids," whose psyches atrophy for lack of nocturnal visions.
The Economy of Sleep
Dreams have become a precious industrial commodity monopolized by the Arches of Dreams, state institutes that resemble technological palaces. The majority of the workforce consists of Fertiles producing mundane "gray dreams," which serve as the raw material for the global hallucination market. Above them sits an elite known as "Golden Oracles," who produce dreams of absolute perfection used by the Arids to catalyze social progress or, for the corrupt, to cement their dominion. Operating in the shadows are the Outlaws: "Synapse Trappers" who deal in stolen fragments and hunt exotic brainwaves across the galaxy.
The Crew of the Hypnos and Chimera Zero
The narrative follows Kaito and his crew of mercenaries aboard the Hypnos, a living bio-organic vessel inhabited by a plant consciousness named Banyam. Initially operating as simple traffickers, they discover the existence of the Originem (or Chimera Zero), a primordial dream fragment capable of restoring the natural faculty of dreaming to every human being.
This quest for the "Oneiric Holy Grail" places them directly in the crosshairs of Hayasha Lorn, an influential leader seeking absolute control over this resource. After realizing that their own ship has absorbed the Originem over decades through its memory mosses, the crew chooses to shatter the monopoly of the Institutes. Rather than hoarding this power, they broadcast the secret of the Originem to the entire population, liberating the collective imagination and permanently restoring humanity’s ability to dream.
