Asli Erdoğan (Estambul, 1967) es una de las escritoras turcas más reconocidas. Tras el fallido intento de golpe de Estado de julio de 2016 fue arrestada y encarcelada por el Gobierno turco en una amplia redada contra voces disidentes. Liberada posteriormente, solicitó asilo político en Alemania, donde vive actualmente. Ha publicado novelas, colecciones de historias cortas y prosa poética, además de selecciones de sus ensayos políticos. Como periodista, ha cubierto temas como la violencia estatal, la discriminación y los derechos humanos.

Aslı Erdoğan (Istanbul, 1967) is one of Turkey’s most renowned writers. She has received multiple awards for both her literary work and her political activism in defense of human rights. Following the failed coup attempt of July 2016, she was arrested and imprisoned by the Turkish government in a broad crackdown on dissident voices. After her release, she sought political asylum in Germany, where she currently lives. She has published novels, short story collections, and poetic prose, as well as selections of her political essays. As a journalist, she has covered issues such as state violence, discrimination, and human rights.
