Johannes von Jena » discovered« Ritter Butzke in 2007 while searching for a temporary party location. Ben de Biel (b. 1963) is a long-time manager of the MARIA club and the Eimer, as well as a former resident of the notorious Tacheles squat. He is one of the most prominent figures in Berlin’ s (night)life and has been photographing his life in the city from the very beginning. » Elegantly Wasted« is not his first photo book about Berlin; another, » Berlin Wonderland« , brought him greater recognition as a photographer. Max Dax (b. 1969) was editor-in-chief of SPEX, a renowned German music magazine, from 2007 to 2010. Known in the scene as the voice of punk and new wave, Max Dax specializes in interviews, having conducted hundreds with artists from the music and art worlds. He remains a regular contributor to the newspapers WELT and TAZ.
