Engaging read that offers a fresh spin on a well-loved fairy tale, and it's the perfect series for a tween! Love reading it with my daughter, we enjoys the mix of fairy tales with contemporary theme.

"Fairest of All by Sarah Mlynowski is a fantastic read for tweens, especially those who love fairy tale reimaginings. It’s the first book in the Whatever After series, which takes classic fairy tales and gives them a fun, modern twist."

The title was eye catching and made sense for the book. Definitely worth reading!

"This book was written with style and was amazing overall. It was funny, outstanding, and just the right amount of adventure. You will be on the edge of your seat as you read this fantastic book about Abby and her brother Jonah going into a fairytale, trying to escape from the anti-hero while on a short time basis. It’s a 10/10 read!"

Loved it!

"I was so excited to read this series. I’ve always loved retellings of fairytales. The girl who I babysit has recommended the Whatever After series for years, and when I found out what it was about, I was dying to read it. In the series, Abby and Jonah enter fairytales through a magical mirror in their house, but something always goes wrong in the story. They have to find a way to fix the fairytale so the main character still gets a happy ending. This story is based on Snow White. When Abby and Jonah arrive in the fairytale land, they prevent Snow from eating the poisoned apple from the wicked witch. This means that she does not die and Prince Charming cannot save her with a kiss. The kids have to find a way to fix the story in a unique way. This is a great series! I love the way Sarah Mlynowski writes. Everything moves at a fast pace. Even though the series is written for a middle grade audience, I really enjoyed the story! I’m excited to read the rest of the series!"

Such a fun read!

"I read this a few years back when it first came out and it was amazing! I loved it! I wanted more! It is such a beautiful and fun story filled with so much adventure. I will never forget this book. It is just sad that when the first book came out I was already a little older so I never got the chance to read the whole series but I know it will all be fantastic. I wish this series could have came around when I was more younger! Sarah Mlynowski is amazing!!!"

Alexia (5/5)

Well written and enjoyable story

"Abby is not happy about moving and she is certainly not happy about having to change schools. When her brother's night time prowling around the house wakes her up, she is mad, mad enough to get out of bed and find him. When she does, he's in front of an old mirror that was left in their basement by the previous owners. They are about to find out that by knocking on the mirror three times they will be launched into a fantastic adventure. The Whatever After series is a wonderful middle grade set that will entertain boys and girls alike. For children who are familiar with the classic fairy tales, they will have fun trying to figure out how Abby and Jonah can help the characters get their tales back on track. Parent note, this is suitable for younger children who are reading at a higher level. I enjoyed listening to the audio book as read by Emily Eiden. Unabridged edition 3 hours 20 minutes."
