I mean, its JLA

"✓ ideal balance between fantasy and romance elements ✓ good world-building and plot development (a little slow in the beginning but the middle to end make up for it) ✓ the kind of romance with equal parts angst and swoon-worthiness ✓ easy, breezy, bing-able writing"

Slow, spicy but hopefully number 2 will be action packed!

"This book was VERY slow to start. I found it difficult to get into as not much happened for the majority of the book. Things picked up 3/4 of the way in and I am now itching to know what happens next!"

Katie (4/5)

The title gives little away but still gets you excited as to whats to come.

"Half way through this title and can hardly put it down. A good read!"

Melh (5/5)

A facinaring adventure

"The story line and adventures of intuition and following your instinct. Ive never read a book like this before and would consider is one to be reread again a few times. Lis's character offers a different perspective on life compaired to the people around her. Leading you with a bit of mystery on where her instincts tell her to go and a romance that keeps making unusual habits a commen occurance. I cant wait for the rest of the series."

Fantasy Romance Perfection—I’m Obsessed!

"I knew I was going to love Fall of Ruin and Wrath, but I wasn’t prepared for just how much. Jennifer L. Armentrout has completely outdone herself with this book—it’s everything I crave in a fantasy romance: tension, intrigue, sizzling chemistry, and a world that sinks its claws into you from page one. Let’s start with Calista. She’s exactly the kind of heroine I love—smart, resilient, and just reckless enough to keep things interesting. Her ability to sense the future gives her an edge, but it’s her spirit that truly makes her unforgettable. And then there’s Thorne. That man. Mysterious, powerful, brooding in all the best ways—I was done for the second he appeared on the page. The tension between him and Calista? Absolute fire. Every interaction crackles with intensity, and their slow-burn romance had me screaming. But this book isn’t just about romance—the world-building is insane. The post-apocalyptic, dystopian fantasy setting is so rich, so immersive, that I felt like I was living in it. The tension between the ruling class and the struggling survivors makes every decision feel high-stakes, and the way Armentrout weaves in mythology and lore? Flawless. It’s dark, dangerous, and completely addicting. And the plot twists—I thought I knew where things were going, but nope. Armentrout shattered me in the best way possible. The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat, desperate for more, and now I need the next book immediately. Final verdict? Fall of Ruin and Wrath is an absolute masterpiece. If you love fantasy romance with a strong heroine, a dangerously irresistible love interest, and a world that drags you under, this book is it. Five stars, ten stars, all the stars—just read it."

Yuh

"I like her work so I bought this as a potential gift to someone (hoping to hook them into her blood and ash series) plus it was bargain book sooo"

Jenna (4/5)

Meh

"A little slow and hard to start because it took a little bit of time to explain the world and introduce the characters. I think the spice was okay, felt a little out of place or unnecessary. I love myself a good slutty story but I felt like some of it was out of place and could have written about some other characters more. Something about the pacing seems off. I’m not sure how to describe it. Also this might just be me but was there even a plot? LOLOL"

#1 New York Times and #1 international bestselling author JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT lives in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. When she’s not hard at work writing, she spends her time reading, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, hanging out with her husband, her Border Jack Apollo, Border Collie Artemis, six judgemental alpacas, two rude goats, and five fluffy sheep. In early 2015, Jennifer was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a group of rare genetic disorders. Due to this diagnosis, educating people on the varying degrees of blindness has become a passion of hers, right alongside writing, which she plans to do as long as she can. Jennifer has been nominated for and won numerous awards for her young adult and adult fiction.
