Quick set mystery to start you guessing from the beginning

"The characters and mystery are develops quickly to suck you in. The different personalities are a great combination that make you think something is about to ignite any moment. I found the main character becomes tedious as the story goes on though. I wanted a little more intensity from the second climax, lacked the excitement for the potential it had . I think it would work really well as a suspense thriller movie actually! I'd give 3. 5 stars but that's not possible on here."

The title caught my attention. I was not familiar with this author. Not my favourite book, but I’d give this author another try.

"This book fell short for me. The secrets that were being kept by most of the central characters just didn’t intrigue me enough, and the ending was out of no where."

I recommend this book and will look for more by this author.

"I really enjoyed this book, it was good right from the start. It kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next."

Disappointing read for me

"I hate to write that I really didn’t enjoy this book. I had high hopes for this anticipated summer release, but I felt like it was a little all over the place with the writing. While I was reading I found myself skimming paragraphs at a time as I wasn’t overly invested (which is not really like me). I appreciate that this was a quick read otherwise I would have been even more disappointed. I appreciate there were a few twists here and there that kept up some intrigue without spelling out the whole story, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for me to rate it much higher than a 2. 5. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this ARC!"
