Love the title of the book. To """"take up the hatchet"""", Brian is preparing to brave the elements in order to survive. While on his journey, he learns to """"bury the hatchet"""" and make peace within himself.

"A timeless classic; as relevent today as when it was first published. This book shows how we can rise up to challenging situations with an inner strength we might not realize we possess."

Story with incredible character growth

"“You are your most valuable asset. Don’t forget that. You are the best thing you have. ” Revisiting Hatchet has been a powerful reminder of the impact childhood stories can have. I had forgotten just how deep and intense this novel truly is. Brian, a young boy thrown into a terrifying and unfamiliar situation, is forced to rely on his instincts and inner strength to survive. His grit, resilience, and growth as a survivalist are both inspiring and heart-wrenching. Stranded in the wilderness, he manages to endure for 54 days after the crash, an incredible story of growth."

A childhood classic to bring to the next generation of readers

"I read this book four times in grade 5, twice in grade 6 and now again 15 years later to make sure it was what I remembered before my son reads them. Did not disappoint, realistic survival, great plot, cool down to earth kid (literally). Would read this series over and over again."
