Dr. Jane Tanner arrives in Hong Kong after a long a grueling flight, and finds herself in a vast sea of humanity she doesn't know how to navigate alone. She needs a guide, because she is determined not to have traveled this far and not experience the adventure of the trip. She meets Bryer Craven, a thoroughbred horse trainer for the distinguished Hung family. His mind and physical attributes have her desiring things she hasn't had time to indulge in for four years.
