Reviews

Crescent City, you have my heart!

"I am a MAASsive fan of Sarah J. Maas's work and this novel is no different! House of Earth and Blood is easily the novel I've read the most out of her work and I consider it to be a masterpiece. The world-building, the beautiful reflection on friendship and the loneliness of grief, how you can lose yourself in it if you don't fight for the life you still have and a romance that made me ache in the best way. This universe will always hold a special place in my heart and it's one I'll return to (and I have) again, and again."

Another great book by an amazing author

"This story was fabulous. I loved the world building, the depth of the characters, and the twists and turns of the story. It kept me reading never wanting to put it down. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series."

On my TBR

"Yet to start this series but excited after reading the rest of the Maas universe."

Pleasantly surprised

"I was told this series was set in a more modern era than SJM’s other series, so I was very skeptical to buy CC in the first place. I like my fantasy books set in a more “historical” era, for lack of better wording. I caught CC on a decent sale so figured why not take the plunge and buy it. I am PLEASANTLY surprised so far!! I’m only about 45% done the book, but I don’t find the modern edge to be as overpowering as I anticipated. Ya they all have phones and computers, there’s elevators and cars. But the mythical/magical aspect of the storyline far outshines the modern aspects. I should have had better faith in SJM since I adore her other series!"

Overall its worth it 10/10

"It is a really good book, its well written with a very nice and interesting storyline, we touch a few subjects and how it affects people like grief and slavery, complicated family dynamics and much more. The world building is crazy good, relatively easy to understand since it has a lot of common elements with our modern lifestyle. Overall recommend for beginner fantasy readers, (do not be intimidated by the size), there is no ''filler chapters'' its all quality and when you finish it you want more. The characters are relatable and likeable, they all have quirks and flaws but we see the growth, its so beautiful."
