Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (1785-1863 and 1786-1859, respectively), known as the Brothers Grimm, were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors who together collected folklore. Among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, the Grimms popularized such stories as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood here called Little Red Cap] -- all of which are inlcuded in Household Stories, along with dozens of others. Also included are the original black & white interior illustrations from the 1886 British edition.
