Athletic collegiate recruitment can be a very stressful time for a player and his family. The recruitment process is a lengthy and sometimes it feels like you are on a roller coaster. There will be a lot of rejection and "sorry, not interested," but to live out your dream all you need is one YES! There are several beneficial companies/programs out there to aid in the recruitment process and some players are blessed with a coach/trainer who will step up and help during this process. Whether you are getting outside help or not, it is absolutely vital for you to take ownership in your own recruitment. Just playing high school ball, club ball, and relying on a third party to get you a scholarship is not enough. At the end of the day, you are the one that wants to play college basketball and no one will be as passionate about your future dreams as YOU! From my experience, if you are not one of the top players in the nation, you will have to sell yourself to the colleges and coaches. You can't sit back, wait, and hope they find you, but instead you must be proactive, market yourself, and recruit them. This workbook is full of questions, helpful links, an strategies to help you earn a scholarship at the collegiate level, just like I did.

How To Recruit The Recruiters And Earn A Basketball Scholarship
Authors Recruitment Story: Justin Allen grew up in a small farming village in Northern Illinois. Going into his senior season he was not on any college coaches radar. He only played for his high school team, which was a school with an enrollment of 78 students, but he never played club basketball. In December of his senior season he had ZERO basketball scholarship offers. This is when his family decided that they could not sit around any longer and hope that college coaches started calling. They sat down and created a "marketing/sales" plan and made a push to market Justin's talents and recruit the recruiters. Within months Justin found himself with offers from many high major and mid-major division 1 programs. The Result: He gratefully chose to attend Arizona State on a full basketball scholarship. He owes his scholarship and his career as a professional athlete to his family's decision to be aggressive and "Recruit the Recruiters." Justin Played 4 seasons at Arizona State University, 3x being awarded Pac-10 All Academic honors. He has successfully battled cancer 2x, has won several national awards, has been featured in books, and has created his own life company specifically to help athletes develop their emotional and mental edge via the sports they love.
