What thought leaders and experts are saying about this book:

"A paradox of our frenetic time is that we can often accomplish more by standing still. Jinny Uppal has written a masterful roadmap for how we can lead lives that are more placid and healthful without sacrificing our goals."

Daniel H. Pink, #1 New York Times bestseller author of The Power of Regret, When, and Drive

"These days, we are all too busy, pushing forward and driving results. But Jinny Uppal provides a fresh perspective: in some cases, taking action might not be the solution, but the problem. Read this book to discover an empowering framework to help you make smart decisions and get the best results."

Dorie Clark, Global Thinker in Thinkers 50, WSJ Best-Selling Author, The Long Game

Learn how inaction may be the best action and procrastination the way to get things done - and have fun in the process."

Sir John Kay, Leading British Economist, Author, Obliquity: Why Our Goals Are Best Achieved Indirectly

"As a corporate leader at multiple Fortune 100 companies, this book gave me pause to reconsider my own action bias and that there are multiple paths to desired outcomes. I will be recommending IN/ACTION to all my friends and colleagues."

Julie Elmore, Chief Technology Officer, Dollar General Corporation

"Passionate. An inspired call that melds history, biography, and social science together to foster how we might better approach action within ourselves and others."

Eugene Soltes, Professor at Harvard Business School, Author, Why They Do It: Inside the Mind of the White-Collar Criminal

What readers are saying about this book:

Richard C. Kane 5-stars

As someone who has been labeled forever as Type A and action oriented, the very concept that, in many cases, doing nothing wins the day was certainly not top of mind for me. But, I must say that Jinny, in her wonderful book, makes a good case for trying this new (to me) approach. One of my favorite [stories] described a senior business executive who, in face of a serious business crisis, decided to take a walk alone instead of jumping immediately into the fray. The steps he took following the walk were, no doubt, much better than those he might have chosen if he had acted immediately.

Ajit Singh 5-stars

..Jinny Uppal writes with crisp, biting economy - with an element of surprise built into the arc of every story she tells. Reads like a novel, teaches like a textbook.

Michael Biarnes 5-stars

I loved the graphics in each chapter as they wonderfully capture and reinforce the core elements in a playful way. I highly recommend this book to those who want to take a more thoughtful and deliberate approach in their lives!

DBN01 5-stars

Through research, stories, and unique hand drawn illustrative comics, we come to understand the downsides of unexplored raw drive, and the benefits of coming to understand what will bring us towards a success that makes sense to and serves us. I highly recommend this book to readers who want to explore their own ambitions and the work they are putting into meeting goals.
