I then chose his martyrdom as the hasis of my Grove Play, should I ever he honored hy an invitation to write one, and now that I have accepted that long awaited honor I ask to he pardoned for having transgressed so far upon what has, heen set down, at least in some opinions, as Gluh tradition, in the hope that this lahor may not have heen in vain.
