His first book was published in 1974, Spin of the Wheel, an insider look at the Buffalo Sabres battle to achieve a NHL franchise. His second book, Last Minute of Play, was published in 1993, quickly reaching best-seller status, followed by the best-selling sequel in 1994, Into the Empty Net, and the book, SABRES. In 1997, Brewitt's Clear the Track – the Eddie Shack Biography was published and remained in the top 10 non-fiction best-seller list for over four months.
