“This is a powerful book. It's easily the most inspirational sports book I’ve ever read. The life of the great Sam Mills is the kind of life you want to lead, and the kind of life you want to teach your children to live. Paul Domowitch is one of America’s most respected football writers, and this is a book you will keep on your shelf to come back to over and over.” – Sal Paolantonio, ESPN"I knew Sam Mills, and I am so glad Paul Domowitch--a student of the game who happens to be one of the best football writers of the modern era--took the time to memorialize the football player and the man. This is not just a terrific football book. Every underdog player in every sport should read this to understand greatness is possible in every walk of life if you work, really work, to achieve it." -- Peter King, National Sports Media Association Hall of Fame writer and author of The Game.“Sam Mills' attitude was contagious. I will always be thankful that Sam took a special interest in me as a player and as a man. I am grateful that Sam’s inspirational story will live on through Just Give Me a Chance to Fail.” -- Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan“Thanks to Paul Domowitch’s in-depth reporting and gifted story-telling, football fans – and anyone who loves an underdog story – can follow Sam Mills’ remarkable journey from a government housing project to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Domowitch delivers a hit in the first biography written about Mills, whose story deserves to be told and preserved.” – Joe Person, The Athletic“Sam Mills’ improbable journey from tiny Montclair State to the NFL Hall of Fame is one of the most inspiring stories in sports. No one knows it better than Paul Domowitch, who documents every step with care, precision and riveting detail. Just Give Me a Chance to Fail is a must-read account of football’s greatest little big man.” – New Orleans Times- Picayune columnist Jeff Duncan“Sam Mills did not have the size or pedigree to play pro football, yet he played for 15 seasons. Today he has a bust in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a statue outside Bank of America Stadium. His story, skillfully told by author Paul Domowitch, is truly an inspiration.” – Ray Didinger, Pro Football Hall of Fame sportswriter and author of Finished Business.“Before Sam Mills told an assembled Panthers team the words ‘Keep Pounding’ -- words that are literally stitched into the fabric of the organization -- he lived them. Just Give Me A Chance To Fail paints the picture of Mills' indomitable spirit, and the impact he had on so many people in football and in life, a legacy that continues to this day.” – Darin Gantt, Panthers.com
