David Himbara is a Rwandan Canadian who worked for President Paul Kagame for several years. His experiences as the Head of Strategy and Policy Unit, the chairman of the Rwanda Development Board and the Institute for Policy Analysis and Research gave him a terrifying glimpse into the kind of man Kagame truly is.

Himbara now serves as a professor and scholar in residence of international development at Centennial College in Toronto, Canada. He is dedicated to using his experience in politics and policy to bring electricity to the 620 million inhabitants of sub-Saharan Africa who go without energy.

Himbara was a valued member of Knowledge Management Africa that coached government evidence-based policymaking. He performed strategic leadership roles for governments, private sector, development agencies, and higher learning institutions. He received his doctorate in political economy from Queen's University at Kingston in Canada. Himbara is also the author of Kenyan Capitalists, the State, and Development and Kagame's Economic Mirage.
