"This book presents a good cross section of theoretical and practical material, providing the student with a good grounding in the fundamentals as well as examples and opportunities to practice solving engineering problems related to fracture. I especially like the historical approach taken in this book, which shows how the field has developed rapidly over the past 75 years. This gives the student an appreciation of how recently the field has emerged and how it is still evolving."
¿ Michael H. Santare, University of Delaware, USA
