This volume contains the 48 papers from the proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Late Roman Coarse Wares, Cooking Wares and Amphorae in the Mediterranean: Archaeology and Archaeometry which was held in Barcelona in March 2002. This was a significant event in that it focused for the first time in an international forum on (late) Roman cooking wares and amphorae. The papers presented in this volume all show how the study of Roman coarse wares, cooking wares and amphorae can contribute to ourknowledge and understanding of a wide range of issues and problems.
