SOON TO BE AN APPLE LIMITED SERIES STARRING ANYA TAYLOR-JOY, STREAMING JULY 2026 REESE’S BOOK CLUB PICK NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
A thrilling roller-coaster ride about a heist gone terribly wrong, with a plucky protagonist who will win readers’ hearts.
What if you had the winning ticket that would change your life forever, but you couldn’t cash it in?
Lucky Armstrong is a tough, talented grifter who has just pulled off a million-dollar heist with her boyfriend, Cary. She’s ready to start a brand-new life, with a new identity—when things go sideways. Lucky finds herself alone for the first time, navigating the world without the help of either her father or her boyfriend, the two figures from whom she’s learned the art of the scam.
When she discovers that a lottery ticket she bought on a whim is worth millions, her elation is tempered by one big problem: cashing in the winning ticket means she’ll be arrested for her crimes. She’ll go to prison, with no chance to redeem her fortune.
As Lucky tries to avoid capture and make a future for herself, she must confront her past by reconciling with her father; finding her mother, who abandoned her when she was just a baby; and coming to terms with the man she thought she loved—whose dark past is catching up with her, too.
This is a novel about truth, personal redemption, and the complexity of being good. It introduces a singularly gifted, multilayered character who must learn what it means to be independent and honest...before her luck runs out.

“As the narrative grows increasingly intricate, Lucky finds herself answering more to moral issues than to plain old con man concerns.” — Toronto Star
"I read this when it first came out via the library and decided to grab my own copy when I heard they were making a series with Anya Taylor Joy. This is SUCH a great read - fun, smart, exciting and heartfelt. Thoroughly enjoyed it the 2nd time around. . ."

Read before the TV series comes out!
"A great thriller that keeps you guessing. Strong lead character. Can't wait for the TV series."

Easy beach read
"Good beach read book. A few surprise twists, but generally predictable. Characters were interesting but seemed to lead very privileged lives which made them a little difficult to relate to."

"I really wanted this book to be awesome. It wasn't. I found it incredibly boring and felt the end was rushed. I love to read all of Reese's Book Club but this just wasn't satisfying for me. I finished reading this book because I wanted to see it through - but I would not recommend. Glad it was only 230 pages."
— JESSICA (2/5)
Great quick read
"Great quick red! Loved the story, would have liked more at the end"
— Megcous (4/5)
Fun Read
"I picked up this book for my daughter for Christmas and decided to pick up one for myself. It’s been awhile since I have read a book that I couldn’t put down. It’s entertaining and you are pulling for the main character as they are challenged time and time again. I have already passed in my copy to a friend. I’m also glad to have found a new author and will be looking to read another of her books."
— Wendy (5/5)
Lucky: a modern day Robin Hood (of sorts)
"I had been looking forward to this novel and was excited to get an early copy before release. The synopsis really gives an accurate overview of the story: a modern Bonnie and Clyde meets Robin Hood of sorts. This story goes smoothly back and forth between past and present (well, interestingly “present” in this case is 2008). I would’ve loved to see an Epilogue with an update on a few things, but the ending was satisfying in a sense, and for the most part came full circle. Could DEFINITELY see this being a movie or mini-series, I think Lucky’s story has great potential. I would suggest you pick this one up if you like well-paced, action/thrillers. Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for this ARC! 3. 5/5"
