"The recipes are unpretentious and were immediately promoted by my family of critics into must-makes for the monthly dinner rotation, new staples for a season of chill and damp." —Sam Sifton, The New York Times

“This book is full of real charm, personality, love, and garlic. Bring on the 100 clove curry! Not to mention fire-smoked eggplant, chicken livers in cumin butter masala, and beet and feta samosas. There's so much to be inspired by.” —Yotam Ottolenghi

“I want to cook everything in this book.” —Nigella Lawson

"This cookbook is the story of Sodha, her family and their journey over three generations from India to Africa to England. 'An Indian kitchen can be anywhere in the world,' the London-based home cook and 'occasional' chef writes in her introduction. Sodha shows you how to do it with enticing recipes, colorful photographs, travel memories and a healthy dose of humor." —Bill Daley, Chicago Tribune

Title explains well what the book is

"Beautiful book, with a wide selection of tasty dishes. My fav Indian Chef by far!"

Laurie (5/5)

Great book

"It is my first Indian cookbook and I love it. The pictures by David Loftus are beautiful and I can’t wait to try all the recipes!"

Caroline (5/5)

Lots of tasty Recipes

"Lots of great recipes in the book, simple and easy to follow. ""Mussels in coconut and Ginger sauce"" is a absolute favourite in our home. Made chapati's for the first time and they were great as well. Beet and feta samosas were excellent and very different. There are some recipes that weren't so great but overall I think anyone who purchases this book will find some great new recipes."

Priya (4/5)

Great Indian Cookbook

"I really love Indian food but have always been a little intimidated making it but this book has made it so easy and accessible. The recipes are great and there is a nice mix of types of dishes as well as veggie dishes. A previous reviewer said that ""vegetarian cookbooks have better recipes"" but this isn't a vegetarian cookbook so although there are some veggie recipes it's more focused on meat. The book itself is beautifully designed with great photographs. When I get a new cookbook I go through and put post-it notes on all the recipes I want to make and at least half the pages have post-its on them."

Rachel (5/5)

Ok

"Vegetarian cook books can have better recipes."

Alessandro (1/5)

Great introduction to Indian food

"Easy to follow recipes and delicious food. I only wish that more of the recipes had pictures – only about half have photos."
