Dr. Jim Ocittiis the author ofPress, Politics, and Public Policy in Uganda, andPolitical Evolution and Democratic Practice in Uganda. He is a communication and media practitioner, researcher and analyst who has worked in intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations around the world. He presently serves as senior advisor to the secretary-general of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) and director of the office of public advocacy, communication and engagement. He has earlier served as under-secretary-general of the OSC and director of public information and knowledge management at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Dr. Ocitti began his professional career as a journalist in Uganda, Germany and the Netherlands before shifting to communications.
