"Full of family secrets, undeniable charm and that particular touch of magic so often found in the South, MIDNIGHT AT THE BLACKBIRD CAFE is a heartfelt and redemptive tale of a daughter looking to move forward in the place her mother couldn’t wait to leave behind. Heather Webber creates a town as dynamic and real as her characters—and a story so compelling that it will stay on readers’ minds long after the final page. I savored every word." —Kristy Woodson Harvey, national bestselling author of Slightly South of Simple

"Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe is an enchanting gem of a novel, brimming with charming characters, heartwarming connections, old secrets, and a southern setting that makes you want to move there. As refreshing as a glass of blackberry tea, this is truly magical realism at its best!"--Karen White, New York Times bestselling author

"Family, fate, and magic intertwine in this endearing Southern tale of long-held secrets, homemade pie, and building one's future from the remains of the past. A magical tale!

"Midnight at the Blackbird Café by Heather Webber is a magical tale with romance, mystery, family drama, grief and special blackbirds. I thought Midnight at the Blackbird Café was well-written with developed, warm characters, a charming small Southern town, and a dash of magic. I enjoyed Heather Webber’s writing style which makes the book just fly by. I found myself drawn into this special story and it did not let me go until I finished the last word. Anna Kate returns to Wicklow, Alabama to bury her Granny Zee who owned the Blackbird Café. She was loved by all and the townspeople are saddened by her loss. Anna Kate expects to wrap up things quickly and then depart. Anna Kate feels a connection to the town and the café that compels her to stay. This gives her a chance to find out why her mother departed Wicklow so many years ago and why her mother vowed to never return. Secrets always have a way of coming out. There are also the blackbirds and something special that happens at the witching hour. Midnight at the Blackbird Café is a sweet and touching story that will have you craving pie. If you like Sarah Addison Allen, then you will this book by Heather Webber. Midnight at the Blackbird Café is an uplifting and enchanting tale with bewitching blackbirds, beguiling pie, and a cozy café."

A cozy, warm-hearted review

"Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe weaves a cozy, heartwarming story you'll want to wrap around yourself like a blanket. With themes of homecoming from both Natalie and Anna Kate's perspective, we see small-town Wicklow through the eyes of one who is returning to her childhood home, and one who has been kept away by her mother. They also both have to grapple in their own ways with grief, healing and the pain of secrets. But while their troubles are sincere, the tone of the book isn't going to drag you down - an undercurrent of hope, family and friendship runs throughout the story, even when that friendship is coupled with the small-town exasperation of everybody knowing everyone's personal business. The dash of magic from the blackbirds and the cafe's pie adds a fun twist to Wicklow's lore, and this fantasy element doesn't override or undermine the poignant story. Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe is a beautiful book about honoring family and heritage, healing from the past, and making a conscious decision to step into the future."
