Provocative poetry

Janna M. (5/5)

Not what I expected.

"I bought """"Milk and Honey"""" for my daughter because I heard it was very popular and thought it was poetry. It's more like a compilation of thoughts than it is poetry. It also deals with mature matter (rape and sex). After opening it to a few pages, I returned it without reading further. I wasn't interested and it wasn't appropriate for my daughter."

Another C. (1/5)

I always thought it was about cooking when I was a kid but clearly it’s more than that

"My cousin loved the poems, personally read through them and I’d buy it again for myself. It’s thought provoking no matter where you are in the poetry world"

Rupi Kaur's first book, Milk and Honey is the poetry collection every woman needs on her nightstand or coffee table. Accompanied by her own sketches, the beautifully honest poems read like the everyday, collective experiences of today's modern woman. (Erin Spencer, Huffington Post)
