Monstress Vol. 1
"Bought this as a gift for my younger sister because the art looked absolutely stunning, the story summary sounded pretty cool, and the theme is fantasy. I have another friend who purchased all the books in this series and she met the creator, and got them to sign a print! So although I haven't personally read it, it seems amazing and I hear nothing but good things. Maybe this is one I will have to check out with my sister!"

Hella cool
"This graphic novel int like anything I've ever read before. Its really cool how the illustrators graceful drawings clashes with the gory in the book. If you want to feel something other graphic novels cant make you feel. Pick this up."
— Seyma (4/5)
Fantastic start to the series.
"The artwork is stunning and is very reminiscent of anime. Love the cast of characters, falling all over the morality spectrum which I always love to see. The mythology of the world and plot still confuse me somewhat but I'm not surprised after hearing about the complexity of this series. Also, talking cats. Smart-ass, talking cats. I'm about it."
— Chenise (4/5)
Very powerful beginning
"Dark fantasy on the surface, this comic series deals with very difficult topics such as slavery, war, physical and psychological violence, but also the importance of love, friendship, hope (without being cheesy). It is a bit difficult to follow at first, as the reader is literally dropped into the universe of Monstress, but as the chapters progress things become more comprehensible, yet intriguing. This on-going series proves just how much can be done through world building. Takeda's art is stunning. #plumreview"
— Otter (5/5)
Gorgeous and Brutal
"The art in this graphic novel is stunning but also depicts brutality on a detailed level. The story and the world that was created is fascinating and a truly compelling read."
— Adrienne (5/5)
Beautifully Twisted
"It is brutal, may pull on some heartstrings, but it is a good start to a series. The art is very beautiful too."
— Vicky (5/5)
