Charming tale of acceptance.

"Such a clever and heartwarming story about loving and caring for those that differ from us. Told with delightful humour."

Fantastic read aloud!

"As a school librarian, this is by far one of my most favourite read-alouds to read to kids of all ages! It inspires great conversations about animal habitats and behaviors, it's great for making predictions, and has kids young and old giggling at the silliness of the entire story. I cannot recommend this book enough!"

Leann L. (5/5)

A humorous book about turning a negative into a positive

"This book is funny and uplifting for both kids and adults. It’s about a bear who was stuck in his ways and did not react well to change. But life gave him a major change and, although he tried to fight it, he eventually opened himself to it. This changed the event from a negative into a positive. The illustrations are great too. I highly recommend this book."

Another Bruce story treasure.

"Another Bruce story treasure. My grandkids love grumpy Bruce and all of his antics trying not to be so big hearted and kind, which he is!"

Favorite adult /children's book!

"I have bought 4 copies of this book and gifted them out, its nice to read something for children that's entertaining for adults too!"

So funny!

"We took this out from the library so many times that we finally had to buy it. Ryan Higgins is brilliant with his text and illustrations."

Endearing!

"Mother Bruce is an adorable story about a cranky bear who accidentally becomes the foster mother of three goslings. The story is laugh out loud funny and the illustrations are adorable. Great story for all ages."

Great read-aloud!

"This book is laugh-out-loud funny for both children and adults. Adults will appreciate the nod to Mother Goose and children will giggle at the ridiculous antics of Bear the Babysitter caring for ducklings. The illustrations are very appealing as well. In the classroom, language, science and social studies curriculum connections could be pulled out of it. I can't wait until I'm rich enough to own the rest of Ryan T. Higgins' picture books! They are quality stories. #plumreview"
