Had so much fun with this one

"Super fun (just trust) twist on classic investigative novel! Stakes through the roof - and a very real heroine. I loved it!"

Danielle O. (4/5)

fast-paced and emotionally gripping thriller

"This book is a fast-paced and emotionally gripping thriller that kept me hooked from the very first page. This was my first Holly Jackson book, and I was impressed. While thrillers aren't usually my go-to genre, the unique premise and constant suspense made it hard to put down. The main character is witty, flawed, and incredibly human. Her determination and struggle to come to terms with her mortality add real emotional depth to the story. The plot is full of twists and surprises, with excellent pacing that kept me guessing until the end. More than just a mystery, the novel explores themes of family, regret, and making the most of the time we have. A compelling read!"

Ended up being one of my favorite books ever.

"Those first few pages were annoying to me, the main character was obnoxious and I had no faith that the book was going to get any better. . . I was so wrong. It ended up being one of those late-night binge reads that I just couldn't put down. This was the first book I've read from this author and I'm really looking forward to reading some of her others. (Advice: If you're like me and haven't read her other books yet, maybe don't read the acknowledgements section in the back. The author references a few tendencies about her writing, and it feels a little spoiler-y because now I feel like I've been given information about her previous works that I'd rather not have). But yeah, this was probably one of my favorite books. I wish all the novels I read were this good, seriously."
