Two workplace enemies find themselves in close proximity on a tropical company retreat that challenges their assumptions—and just might make them to fall for each other—in this romcom by a beloved TikTok author.
Engineer Trishara Malik once dreamed of being the first woman of color to smash the glass ceiling at WMC Purcell, but after years of dealing with white male privilege and blatant nepotism, she watches her hard-earned promotion go to her nemesis, Rafe Gallagher—the boss’s son. Teetering on the edge of burnout, Tris is stunned when she’s picked to attend WMC's corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. It’s a chance to revive her stalled career and compete for a coveted spot in an executive training program—plus, three weeks in paradise! The only downside? Rafe is her co-attendee.
Tris plans to avoid Rafe entirely, but when she arrives in Maui, a booking error has them stuck sharing the honeymoon suite. Sure, it’s not all torture. Rafe is a smoldering ten—okay fine, an eleven—but after years of competition, they can barely stand being in the same time zone. As they vie against each other during aptitude tests and team-building exercises, Tris begins to realize Rafe might not be the villain after all. With her dreams at stake, can she learn to trust the man who might have been standing in her corner all along?

Absolutely not
"This wasn’t a couple I was rooting for, the MMC was annoying and a red flag with his relationship with his ""ex"". I hate when there’s an ex or past lover involved in a romance book. The FMC was veeerrryyyy desperate. Seems like the author wanted to make her a ""victim"" in every single moment."

Fun Woman in STEM, Enemies to Lovers Romance
"This was such a fun summer read! The setting was great, Tris was a fun, strong and flawed lead, the spice spiced and I was smiling at the end. Definitely recommend!"

Such a fun summer read!
"TLDR: This was SUCH a fun RomCom, perfect for summer reading! Rating: 4/5 Spice level: 2. 5/5 This was a great, short, light-hearted but meaningful read. It addresses the FMC’s workplace struggle as a woman of colour in a male-dominated field. It was relatable in many ways and made me root for her even harder. This book mixes important topics with light-hearted fun and addictive relationship-building. The tension and build-up between the two main characters is DELICIOUS (pun intended… IFYKY). Nisha truly nails it again! I have been obsessed with all of her fantasy series, so it’s no shock that I loved the writing but I was surprised at how easily she flowed between writing genres. At this point, she could write a grocery list and I would happily read it. Highly recommend! Especially at the beach with a little drinky-drink. It’s the perfect summer read!"

Verbal sparring at its best!
"This has officially cemented Nisha as a “drop everything and read” author for me. I adored the Artefacts of Ouranos series—and now this? Holy crap. She can do no wrong! As a woman of color in engineering, Tris has had her fair share of struggles—mostly involving all the men in engineering. So when she’s unexpectedly chosen to attend a prestigious leadership retreat—alongside her workplace rival, Rafe—she’s stunned. Three weeks in paradise with the devil himself? Fantastic. And to top it off… they’re sharing a suite. But then Tris starts noticing things she really doesn’t want to—like the different kinds of smiles Rafe sends her way. She’s cataloging them. Looking for them. And when he starts to open up—revealing a softer, more creative side—the attraction she’s tried to suppress becomes harder to ignore. Maybe she can let him in, just a little. Just for now. No way she could actually fall for him… right? This book is packed with banter, angst, and that irresistible push and pull—the kind of delicious verbal sparring that makes it impossible to stop reading. I devoured it. Tris is such a force, constantly fighting to be seen and heard in a misogynistic, male-dominated field. And Rafe, with all the pressure from his father to be someone he’s not. Together, they peel back each other’s layers, see the insecurities, and then build one another up. They strengthen, encourage, and support each other—and it’s beautiful to watch. Oh, and Rafe is a dirty talker. So that definitely didn’t hurt."
