After nearly 40 years of riding motorbikes, Andy Westlake is one of the UK’s leading motorcycle magazine journalists. He contributes to leading monthly magazines such as The Classic Motorcycle, Classic Dirt Bike and Motorcycle Sport and Leisure in the UK, and also classic and off-road magazines in France, the USA, and Australia. He attended his first motorcycle sports event as an eight year old in 1961, and it is the bikes and people of that era that he writes so passionately about. He has competed with great success in classic long distance trials, and as recently as 2006 won a gold medal in the Lands End trial on his Cheney Triumph. Andy has also toured extensively on Guzzi twins, including a coast-to-coast trip across the USA.
His series of profiles on 1950s and ‘60s off-road stars in ‘The Classic Motorcycle’ magazine have been hugely popular, and were the basis for his ‘Off Road Giants’ book series, which now runs to three volumes.

"A Who's Who of memories for those who were there, and essential reading for those who wish they had been. A welcome addition to the history of motorcyclists and their trusty steeds." - On The Level

"If off-road motorcycle sport is in your blood, and you enjoy reading motorcycle history, you'll find this entire series a must to have in your library." - Ultimate MotorCycling
