Roland Miller, a Chicago native, worked in higher education for 30 years, first as a photography professor and later as dean. His photographs have been featured in the New York TimesWall Street Journal, National Geographic UK, and many more. They have been exhibited in art and science museums around the world including the Galleria del Cembalo in Rome, Italy. His photographs are in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and the NASA Art Collection in Washington, D.C. Miller’s books include The Space Shuttle: A Mission-By-Mission Celebration of NASA’s Extraordinary Spaceflight Program, which was selected as a Best Gift Book of the Year by Barnes & Noble, Publishers Weekly, and The Strategist; and Abandoned in Place: Preserving America’s Space History, which documents deactivated space launch and test facilities around the United States. His collaborative project and book with Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli, Interior Space: A Visual Exploration of the International Space Station, documents the interior of the International Space Station.
