Slow Burn

"This YA novel was a good story but slow. Not for me but others in the reading group enjoyed it."

Beautifully written

"The cover art work caught my eye and I bought it. I was not prepared for how indepth this book went. It is a great coming of age story dealing with death, grief and all the emotions associated with it. The story follows highschooler Marjan after her father's death. She is suddenly thrust into this mystical world that she only knew about through her father's bed time stories. This world expects her to take her father's place as a vet and treat the mystical creatures she now knows are real. You go on the journey with her as she discovers the world hidden in plain sight and possibly who killed her father. _x000D_ I have recommended this book to all my friends and to the local library. It is a personal favourite of mine and I cannot wait for Kiyash Monsef to write more."

Enjoyable

"My son picked this out at random and we have been enjoying reading it together at bedtime. It’s likely better suited for a preteen or early teen but the story is engaging and well written."
