Captures the essence of the book

"There are many books on WWII but this book shows you a different lenses looking through and the psychological effect it had on ordinarily man that were drafted to be guards and how different men deal differently how one circumstancescan change a man to good or bad be a follower or a leader have compassion or be brutal."

Understanding the events behind German frontlines and

"This book has been phenomenal and very interesting, allowing me go grasp an understanding of the going ons during the events of World War Two and the extermination of the Jews. I Highly recommend this book as it helps show how these ordinary men were mixed up in horrendous events and how they all coped in different ways. This book allows an understanding that several of the men struggled with what they did and weren't content or happy. Without a doubt, the book conveys several truths about the war that are often overlooked and give the reader the chance to understand the struggles the German men went through during World War Two."

Gripping, Sad, Well-Written

"It's like you can't put it down because of how well it's written and it's detail, but at the same time so sad to hear those details of what human beings went through. Highly recommend this book but it's not for the faint of heart. I am deeply interested in WW2 & Holocaust history so I'd recommend this read to anybody else who shares the same interest."

Gen-z special

"All young people need to read this important part of history"

Good read!!

"Stumbled upon this book from a YouTube video and I throughly enjoyed the read. Some parts were difficult to stomach but trying to answer how seemingly ordinary people can do terrible things is interesting."

Corey M. (5/5)

Shocking and Well Written

"Browning's detailed and well researched history is a brilliant and horrifying account of how a group of regular men were inducted into the military and took part in a series of government led massacres and liquidations with less and less resistance. It's scary how killing can be normalized, and how some are willing to commit horrific crimes when given permission. It's a tough read, but an important one."

Thomas (5/5)
