Ursina Ziegler nació en 1921. Cuando era niña recibió lecciones de pintura del mismísimo Jakob Strasser. Ursina Ziegler was born in 1921. As a child, she received painting lessons from Jakob Strasser himself. She studied at the School of Applied Arts in Basel, the Geneva School of Fine Arts, and the Paul Colin School in Paris. Her first jobs were in advertising and fashion, and after the birth of her first child, she began working on children's books. In 1986, she received the Swiss Children's Literature Prize for her career as an illustrator. She died in 2003.
