She is a frequent lecturer and has been interviewed on numerous radio and television program discussing women’s health issues and by KPIX on women’s health legislation in California. Dr. Lanka was awarded the Diablo Soroptimist Societies’ Women Helping women Award.

James E. Huston, M.D., specialized in obstetrics and gynecology before his retirement. He lives in Medford, Oregon. He is a frequent author and speaker on women’s health topics.

Both Dr. Lanka and Dr. Huston have visited Guatemala as participating doctors with the Hospital de la Familia in Guatemala, donating much-needed medical aid for indigenous families.

Huston and Lanka's book is a comprehensive and conventional medical guide to this wide span of years, which begins in a woman's thirties.... The goal is to empower women to manage their symptoms while minimizing their risks of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Recommended.

An excellent overview of the resources allopathic medicine recommends to women as they age, the book reflects both authors' experiences as ob/gyn doctors.
