This edition is the result of a careful revision, in course of which many new items have been inserted.

The section on prices has been entirely re-written and greatly extended. The greater part of this section, up to and including the trade of joiner, was published a few years ago in a weekly journal. Prices have altered since then, and are now revised. The importance of the subject to the quantity surveyor affords a good reason for the comparatively large bulk of this section.
